What to Know
- Locate a widget. Holding down the Home screen, select Widgets.
- Include the widget: Drag the widget to the Home screen after selecting an app from the list, such as Calendar.
- Shift or remove a widget: To move it, simply touch and drag it. To access the Remove option, tap and hold the widget.
Adding Samsung Phone Widgets
Although there are many amazing Android widgets available, in this example I’ll go over how to obtain a calendar widget that counts down to a specific event.
Note: Widgets vary in their functionality; some offer more possibilities than others. All widgets, however, require the same initial actions.
- Select Widgets from the bottom of the screen by tapping and holding an empty section on the Home screen.
- Choose Calendar.
- Tap and hold the countdown.
- To position the widget on your screen, drag & drop it there.
- Choose the occasion that you wish to count down to on your calendar.
- After selecting the Background transparency and color, click the left arrow (<) next to the Widget Settings in the upper-left corner.
Note: Widgets may be changed on the screen by touching and dragging them, just like programs. Touch and hold a widget to remove it, then select Remove from the pop-up menu or Remove from Home.
