In Google Maps, what are lists?
Locations saved in bundles are called lists on Google Maps. A list can be compared to a folder used to hold a collection of locations. By default, Google Maps provides a few lists: Favourites, Want to go, Travel plans, Labelled, and Starred locations.
You can, however, make other lists and add your preferred locations to them in addition to these. Your lists are accessible through the Google Maps app’s Saved tab.
How to Use Google Maps to Create Lists?
Open Google Maps and tap the Saved symbol located at the bottom of the screen to start creating lists. Choose an icon, name, and description for the list by tapping + New list. To make each list unique, you can select an icon from your favorite emojis.
It can also be changed to Shared or Private. After finishing, select Save located in the upper-right corner. Now, the list appears under Your lists. It also appears when you attempt to include a location in a list.
How Can I Add Locations to Lists?
Adding locations to a list is simple once it has been created. This also holds for any locations you could come across while using Google Maps on a computer. Take these actions:
- Look up and locate the desired location using Google Maps.
- Select Save. Scroll to the right if, like in our screenshot below, you’re having trouble finding it.
- Tap Done in the upper-right corner after selecting the list or lists to which you wish to add the place.
As an alternative, you can choose the list itself and add locations. Navigate to the Shared tab, choose the list to which you wish to add locations, and then press Add.
Tap the three dots next to the list and select Edit list to delete a location from your list. Next, press the X button adjacent to the location’s name.
How to Use Google Maps to Share Lists
All lists are private by default until you modify the list type when you create it. To share a list with the public, simply tap the three dots to the right of the list and select Share List.
When you attempt to share a private list, a pop-up will appear to explain that anyone who has the link can view your list. Choose one or more contacts by tapping Continue. Another option is to copy the link to your clipboard and paste it anywhere you choose.
On the other hand, you can select Sharing Options by tapping the three dots next to a Google Maps list to cease sharing it. Next, on the screen that appears, choose the Private list type.
